PRIVATE COACHING FOR CHILDREN & TEENS

MEET BATSHEVA
Hi, I’m Batsheva Mandelbaum
I’m a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA, LBA). For the past six years I’ve worked with neurodivergent children and their parents — in homes, schools, and clinics.
Â
In all of those settings I kept seeing the same thing: the behaviors adults focused on most — meltdowns, refusals, outbursts, friendship struggles — were only the surface.
Â
Underneath almost every one of them was a skill the child hadn’t built yet.

So instead of asking how do we stop this behavior, I learned to ask a different question:
What skill is this child asking us to help them build?
That question is what Cobalt Coaching is built on.Â
Â
Drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches, I determine what skills will make the biggest difference, and help children build those skills in a way that is relevant to their lives.
I work from the inside out — building the specific social, emotional, and behavioral skills your child may be missing — and coaching you every week so those skills hold up at home.
Â
Behavior is a signal.
I help you read the signals instead of reacting to the struggles.
Refuses to complete daily tasks or comply with basic demands
Has a hard time putting feelings into words
Doesn’t know how to make or keep friends
Struggles to advocate for themself when something isn't working
Fights constantly — with siblings or with friends
Misreads social situations, or doesn’t know what to do in them
Falls apart at transitions  — changes of plan, unexpected situations, things not going their way
Lashes out or shuts down — when overwhelmed
Struggles to make it through the school day
Melts down often — or goes from zero to a hundred with no warning
Who does Cobalt Coaching help?
I help children with autism, ADHD, PDA, and executive functioning challenges —
and neurodivergent or socially struggling kids who don't have a diagnosis at all.

THE PROCESS
What does working together look like?
I ask what's happening at home and at school, what you've already tried, and what you most want to change. If I’m not the right person for your child, I'll say so.
I spend 1-2 hours with you, meet your child, and call teachers and any other providers to get a cohesive picture. Then you decide whether to begin treatment.
I work with your child for 45-60 minutes, once or twice a week. We practice the exact skills that matter in real life.
We meet every week, either over video meeting or phone — whichever you prefer. I tell you what we worked on, show you how to carry over the skills to home, and we troubleshoot whatever happened since we last spoke.
What could progress look like?
The goal isn’t a perfect kid.
It’s a child who feels more capable, and a house that feels calmer.
More confidence navigating social situations
Less guessing, more implementing individualized techniques
Greater flexibility
Fewer, less intense meltdowns
A better understanding of emotions
Greater self-understanding
and self-advocacy
Stronger problem-solving skills
Stronger friendships and real
connection with people
You’ve been dealing with the struggle.
Let’s build skills that stop the struggle at the root.
I've worked with dozens of children like yours,
and parents who came to me feeling exactly the way you feel right now.Â

This road you’re walking is complicated. Parenting this child is confusing.
But it can be better than it is today — and you don’t have to keep guessing what to work on next.
That's my job, and I'll be alongside you the whole way.

I’d love to speak with you and hear about your child.
No cost, no commitment. Just my commitment —
to stand by you until your child is succeeding and thriving.Â
